Is there a Sex Doll with Your Face on it? (NSFW or children)

By CHERI ROBERTS for Challenging the Rhetoric

Yesterday’s blow-up dolls have given way to today’s silicone clones created to be extremely life-like right down to the last feature, but what if the features were your own? The sex doll industry is booming and we should all be paying attention whether we are into that sort of kink or not.

In the regular doll world personalized faces have been available for some time. What started as flat digital photo copy ‘masks’ are now 3-D printed or hand sculpted replicas used on action figures and dollies alike. You can essentially clone yourself or others in doll form of various sizes and abilities.

With the expansion of tech, AI will only increase those abilities while further perfecting the aesthetic. Unfortunately some innocent children’s doll-makers are harassed by those searching for silicone satisfaction online. As it stands right now, it’s the sex toy industry, not Mattel, who has the jump on realistic looking ‘dolls’ in the market.

Below you see sex doll leaders, Abyss Creations, LLc’s Real Doll and Orient Industry’s Dutch Wife, as examples of ‘companions’ that can be customized from proportions to orifices to eye color, facial shape and more.

The Dutch Wife

How customizable are these dolls really, with some going for as much as $60,000 each?

The Real Doll

And I hate to mention it, but other sex toy industry manufactures, like Trottla, create astoundingly life-like female child dolls that are marketed internationally to pedophiles. Aside from being disgusting to begin with, the idea that a rich pedophile could potentially have a doll custom made with the face of any child of his choosing is even more disturbing than the dolls themselves. Clicking the Trottla video below is not for the feint of heart.

Because we are talking about the sex toy industry, we should be raising questions about the standards of oversight, accountability and privacy.

The truth is no one has full ownership of their own name or likeness; we only have a handful of “privacy” and “publicity” rights. Most of these center around use of name, likeness or personal information in publicity and or advertising.

Is a real face ever modeled or replicated in its entirety without the individuals knowledge or consent? And if so, although unethical, is it illegal if it’s not an advertised to and for all product on the shelf and only manufactured for special request? Abyss Creations, LLC the maker of Real Doll, did not return calls for comment.

When money talks in an industry that doesn’t, will we ever know?

How would you feel to wake up and discover you or your child’s face was on a sex doll?

Technology is whizzing right along, and with it, our attention. It’s like the world has ADD; and our attraction to the shiny stuff new tech has to offer buries any sense of a finer point.
